QPS Employment Group is Hiring a Sheet Metal Team Member Near Harlan, IA
Wage: $23.00 per hour
Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm; 2:00pm-12:30am
QPS Employment Group has a great Sheet Metal Team Member position available at a company in Harlan, IA. This is a direct hire position.
Sheet Metal Team Member Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Reads and interprets blueprints or product specifications to determine process sequence for fabricating and assembling sheet metal products.
- Know how to locate and use all drill press dies and fixtures and adjust to make a part to print.
- Must be able to work from prints, work orders, pick lists and verbal or written instructions to perform duties. Use various measuring instruments, such as: tape measure, dial calipers, micrometer, square, protractor, height gauge, and test fixtures.
- Operates hand tools and fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, punch presses, and bandsaw, miter saw, routers, to cut, pierce, bend, block and form, or straighten materials.
- Trims, files, grinds, deburrs, buffs, and smooth surfaces to ensure the functionality of the produced part.
- Maintain accurate timecards and necessary records. Move materials as required to satisfactorily perform duties. Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain quality standards.
- Takes an active role in understanding, implementing, and using 5S in all activities.
- Through actions and decision-making, proactively supports, promotes, and improves the quality system and policy throughout the organization.
- Supports and maintains 5S.
- Supports and upholds the quality and EHS policy.
- Upholds Core Values.
Sheet Metal Team Member Requirements:
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area and circumference. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently is required to sit.
- Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
